Arem Foundation Child

The story about Arem Foundation and it’s establishment.

Edna was born and raised in Sekei Village, at the foot of Mount Meru, which gave her a deep connection to the Arusha and Kilimanjaro regions. After graduating from the University of Dar es Salaam with a degree in Public Administration and Human Resource Management, she met Godlove — and they soon discovered they shared the same passion for community development.

Godlove grew up in the village of Meru, near Mount Meru and about 25 miles from Mount Kilimanjaro. After obtaining a master’s degree in education, he taught in high schools and later in colleges until 2010.

Driven by their shared commitment to helping children from low-income families, Edna and Godlove founded a preschool in 2017 in the Maji ya Chai area. They named it Arem Montessori Pre-School, inspired by Godlove’s family name “Arem.”

Since its establishment, the school has been operating through their own personal income and small contributions from close friends, ensuring that children aged three to five receive care, early learning, and support. Today, the school serves about 41 children, offering them a safe, nurturing environment and a strong educational foundation.

Arem Foundation also welcomes local and international volunteers who wish to contribute, teach, and interact with the children at Arem Montessori Pre-School. The Foundation believes that supporting early education can create lasting positive change for children, their families, and the wider community.

To turn our vision into reality, we need your support. Join us on this exciting journey by contributing to our fundraising campaign. Your generous donations will go directly towards acquiring the land, constructing the building, and furnishing it with everything needed to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for our children.
